Off The Beaten Path - Sonoran Desert Mystique

We'll be hosting another small group from Helena, MT-based Off The Beaten Path adventure travel company in the fall. This journey takes travelers deep into Arizona’s Sonoran Desert to walk among priestly saguaros, graceful organ pipe cactus, and other desert-adapted plants, all with their own stories to tell. Participants will venture far off the beaten path to Ajo and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the only place in the U.S. where the stately organ pipe cactus grows wild.

In addition to Ajo and Organ Pipe, the trip includes Saguaro National Park, Chiricahua National Monument, and Kartchner Caverns. Every day of this sojourn is filled with ecological surprises and cultural resonance lent by the area’s Native American, Spanish, Mexican, and homesteaders histories.
